i saw King Kong in the cinema it is better than the remake

Thr original King Kong is far superior to any remake, i saw it where its meant to be seen , on a cinema screen. There is a magic with the black and white that puts smudge weird stuff into your imagination pictures of your brain and it works.

You are quite correct, sir. It is indeed far superior to either 'remake'. Unfortunately I've never seen King Kong 1933 at the cinema, although I did see King Kong 1976 and King Kong 2005 at the cinema.

I've seen KK1933 several times on the big screen. The best being 1976 when the film was restored and the re-make was out. Kong is incredibly massive. The film is dark and disturbing. The sounds will creep out the most jaded filmgoer. The soundtrack is one of the most ambitious and interesting things ever. It's an unforgettable experience.

I saw the 1976 restored version in the theatre, too, after dozens of viewings on TV, and I was blown away by the difference. You're right about his being incredibly massive.

Agreed and seconded most wholeheartedly.

And I stood where I did be; for there was no more use to run; And again I lookt with my hope gone.

2005 is better for me.

I saw KK on the big screen back in '98 for the 65th anniversary. Afterwards, Fay Wray took the stage for an interview and Q&A session. That's definitely an experience I'll never forget.

I have seen the 1933 film 4 times on the big screen. The last was at the 80th Anniversary screening in NYC this past spring. It is hands-down the best film of the three. Try to catch it in the theater if possible, you will not be disappointed.

Saw a bad copy of this film on the big screen and it did nothing to ruin my memory of the film. It's so much better than either remake. I watch it every year on New Years Eve.

Imagine what it must have been like in 1933. Talkies were only 6 years old. I imagine it was like the first time anyone seeing a film in the cinema in the TV era, times 10.
