I know it is a complete faux pas to even mention a remake. This is one of my favorite movies and while I would hate a remake that ruins the memory of this beautiful movie.... I would love to see excellent remake if it was done correctly.

With that said, who would you imagine playing the Anne and Joe in a current remake?

For me it would be hands down Natalie Portman for Princess Anne.
For Joe, I could see Ryan Gosling doing an excellent job. Also, Michael Fassbender.....

im very sure that this movie gonna hell exploded if being remake ! this movie will have such an adventurous sensation if it shooted with colors ! with great cinematography but still using similar classic screenplay, this movie will be unforgettable !!! rome background with cheerish and beauty lighting while not forgeting the superb art-direction will be wonderful.

if it will be remake, this movie gonna need a superb actor and actress whose have superb character depth. ryan gosling and natalie portman were the exact player to cast the leads !

This is already a remake of "It happened one night" - and what's good about it: it is just made very very different. A totally different approach and not trying to do the same but "contemporary".

So if there would be another -good- remake, maybe there would not even be a princess, or Rome.

I can see Netflix remaking this. They are big on rom-coms aimed at young women. This would fit the bill.
