i look forward to a remake, that is not the problem like eeeeveryone is going to pretend but miley and zac were... odd... choices. they seem to think hannah montana is the modern day's gidget and miley is as talented as sally field OR sandra zac isnt very cute anymore but hes not as bad a hcoice as miley who prolly bought her way into the movie...

BTW isnt sandra famous for being sweet, naturally pretty and virginal?

also, much as i love selena i would not like that. she isnt really 'pure' enough anymore now that shes obsessed with dating uber famous rich guys and took those pics of herself.. why not Jodelle Ferland? shes an amazing young actress and cute as can possibly be even if shes a brunette, but then so was sally field same for aly stoner. but there will never be anyone as cute AND likeable as sandra

as for moondoggie i demand robert pattinson or jackson rathbone. you may not like robbie cause of twilight but to deny hes a good actor is insane; both are so hot.

How about Lindsey Lohan? ;^)

I think Miley is both hot and sweet, and I'd pay money just to see her in a bikini for 2 hours. Zac Efron is a horrible choice. Need someone more buff and masculine. Like that guy from "Dear John." (And I could never watch anything with Sally Field.)

I have nothing against remakes. If you don't want to see it, don't. If it sucks, it will blow over quickly. If it doesn't, it might actually be an improvement -- or may at least introduce more viewers to the original. (For me, at a fairly mature 43 years of age, I mainly enjoy Gidget as a historical set piece, to see what America, California and Malibu was like in that era.)

Some good remakes (IMO): The Great Gatsby (with Redford). Against All Odds (though not as good as the original, "Out of the Past".) Many others I can't remember right now. But they tend to interest me in the original book or film on which it was based.
