Certain moments in episodes that just crack you up :)

Andy Saves Barney's Morale is my favorite episode, but one of the funniest moments in an episode for me was I forget the name of the episode, but it was the end of season 3, I think. Those convicts keep escaping from jail, and Gomer is on the roof with his rifle. Barney explaining the rules of The Rock: "Rule number one: Obey ALL rules!" and Andy saying to Gomer, "and take that gun out of your mouth!"

I generally like Andy Griffith but don't exactly laugh out loud like I do when I watch other comedies, even old ones like The Honeymooners.

My favorite crack up scene/episode is the one where a travelling band stopped in Mayberry for lunch and Andy recruited/extorted some of the band members to fill in for some of his own guys for the Mayberry Marching Band to audition for the mayor of Mayberry so the mayor would let the Mayberry band travel to the Capitol to compete.

The beatnik horn player and drummer were hilarious.

Almost everything Barney did cracked me up. Like the times he would be trying to intimidate prisoners and referred to the jailhouse as , "Life here on the rock!...etc."

I always laugh at the episode when Barney and Gomer go into the supposedly haunted house to retrieve Opie's baseball. Both were scared out of their wits.

Any episode with Ernest T. Bass makes me laugh. The show was wise in using such an oddball character sparingly. He was so funny.

I can't remember the name of the episode but where a guy Andy arrested gets out of prison having served his term. He calls Andy to tell him he'd like to meet him. Barney thinks he wants to kill Andy for arresting him. So he gets Floyd and Gomber to come with a net to capture the guy. Well, the guy turns out to want thank Andy for turning his life around. And Barney, Gomber, and Floyd get trapped in the net. That was funny.

Another moment that really makes me laugh is Andy trying to explain the meaning of giving to Opie in Opie's Charity.
