cast for remake

if they did a remake, which theyre due. ater reading the book, i think crispen glover would make a perfect freddie clegg, he has the quiet submissive, creepy guy thing going for him. scarlet johansen would make a good miranda.

Casey Affleck and Jaime King for sure. i think they both resemble the two original characters a lot

the girl should def be an unknown , it would work so much better, in fact they both should, though that will never happen, its jobs for the boys

Crispin Glover is too old for the part, he's supposed to be about 25 years old.

I think Anna Friel looks a lot like the girl in this but I think even she is too old. I'd say someone like Lee Ingleby, I think that's his name, someone British, not a big name actor.

Cillian Murphy as Freddie
Abbie Cornish as Miranda

Despite the fact that Cillian can pull off creepy and intense (have you seen him in Disco Pigs??!), he may have too much of an angelic visage for Freddie. As so many people mentioned, i also think Joaquin Phoenix would suit the part because he does resemble a young Terence Stamp and he does have a rougher look and more of an edgy quality to him...like Terence.

And Abbie Cornish has the right amount of prettiness without exuding too much sex appeal.

I'm not too crazy about any movies being remade; but in the even this film was remade...

I have to agree, I really like the idea of Cillian Murphy as Freddie. I think he's the right balance of creepy and naively innocent. I think Crispin Glover is a bit too creepy, just my opinion of course, but he's also a bit too old now to play Freddie.

Though she's still a bit young, maybe in a couple of years, I think Rachel Hurd-Wood could make a good Miranda.

reply

I would cast Zachary Quinto as Freddie and Johansen would be great with him.

reply

Scarlett would be very wrong for Miranda, she doesn't have her girlishness or innocence and isn't very good at expressing emotion IMO. I think Keira Knightely both looks the part and can play that type of character very well.

Jonathan Rhys Myers (the best candidate, looks a lot like Stamp)
Joaquin Phoenix (another great contender)

Cillian Murphy (although is freaky, but I don't see him as nice and lovable like the above actors, but I'd still like to him in this)

Jude Law (too nice, not that freaky, but who cares?)

Daniel Craig (looks like him a little, but he's a little too heroic now to play the part)

miranda should be played by Lindsay Lohan; they even look alike. and Freddie could be played by....Charlie Sheen. Or better yet, stop with the crappy remakes of great films and come up with something ORIGINAL...for a change.

Clegg - Tobey Maguire

Miranda - Piper Perabo or Rose Byrne.

At least that's whom I pictured when reading the novel. I haven't seen the movie yet.

wow I'd definitely go for Rose Byrne. I think she's attractive and has that art student look at the same time.
