Favorite Monkees song?

What's your favorite Monkees song? I have to go with "Papa Gene's Blues" followed by "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)", "Randy Scouse Git" & "For Pete's Sake".

Yeah, Mike was great. I made a cd with just his stuff on it. I also really like Nine Times Blue. What a great song.

Nine Times Blue is such a great song. I keep waiting for someone to re-discover it and cover it with more production.

"for pete's sake" and "listen to the band". The live version of listen to the band from the 33 1/3 tv special with it's "all you need is love" type of big ending is pretty cool.

reply

"You just may be the one", "For Pete's Sake", "Sweet Young Thing",
"Words", "She"

My absolute favourite song is "Porpoise Song (Theme From "Head"). I've made a CD with fifteen of my favourites. The track list is as follows:

1. Special Announcement
2. (Theme From) The Monkees
3. Alternate Title (Randy Scouse Git)
4. I'm a Believer
5. Magnolia Simms
6. Goin' Down
7. Daydream Believer
8. Porpoise Song (Theme From "Head")
9. Ditty Diego--War Chant
10. Circle Sky
11. Daily Nightly
12. Last Train to Clarksville
13. Alvin
14. Long Title--Do I Have to Do This All Over Again?
15. Star Collector

Then, I have three minutes and ten seconds of silence followed by the ending to the single version of "Porpoise Song". This is a hidden track and is not listed on the cover that I made.

I haven't heard a lot of 'em, but out of the ones I've heard, I'd say "Hey Hey We're the Monkeys", "I'm a Believer" and "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" are in a dead heat for first.

Favorite Monkees song? Uhm, how about just about everything on the "Anthology" discs, as well as "Buy me a dog" which was shamefully omitted? lol

Zor and Zam, Auntie Grizelda, Circle Sky, Listen to the band, She, Randy Scouse Git, Mary Mary, For Pete's sake.....I could just go on and on and on......but instead I think I'll pop a disc in instead and listen to them. lol
