The WORST Beatles songs...

The Beatles obviously have a TON of really good songs. But I'm interested in what people think are the worst Beatles songs. I'll start.

1. Good Morning Good Morning
2. Sun King
3. A Taste of Honey

reply

Why Don't We Do It In The Road? Only song of theirs that I skip every time.

reply

Don't Pass Me By is downright horrible. I don't care too much for Dear Prudence either.

reply

Revolution 9, Goodnight, Wild Honey Pie, She's Leaving Home

I'm amazed at how many of the "worst" songs posted here are in my list of favourites! And how many of the songs often noted for being less than stellar are missing. All in the "ears" of the beholder, I guess.

My top three worst Beatles songs:

1. The Word
2. Drive My Car
3. Why Don't We Do it in the Road

Favourites while I'm here:

1. Strawberry Fields Forever
2. I Saw Her Standing There
3. I Feel Fine

reply

Hmm...I actually kind of like Revolution 9. Then again, I am more of a Pink Floyd fan :D

My least favorite, though I don't really HATE any of them:

1. Baby You Can Drive My Car
2. Good Morning, Good Morning
3. Michelle

Some of my favorites:

1. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
2. A Day in the Life
3. Sexy Sadie
4. Across the Universe

The Beatles are a damn good band, it's not easy to think of real crap they've produced, imo.

Blessed pancakes.

I love Yellow Submarine! I used to sing it as a kid. One of my earliest memories of the Beatles, the others being Eight Days a Week and She Loves You.

I'm not fond of (I know I'll be bashed for this) I Am The Walrus and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I just don't connect with them ones really. They're not bad songs, I just...I dunno. Not mu favourite Beatles songs.

WALL-E SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED for Best Picture

i understand why some people wouldnt like revolution 9 it is extremely different from most of the beatles work. it is what you call an experimental song. it has drugs written all over it. if i had to describe id probly say it is a chaotic jumble of instruments and people talking played backwards and at the ssame time. a lot of beatle fans may not like this song because it certainly isnt hey jude...its very creepy trippy and odd. guarantee you havent heard a song anything quite like it.

Worst:
Chains
Good Morning Good Morning
Rocky Raccoon
Good Night
The electric version of Revolution 1. I definitely dig the acoustic version way more.
Penny Lane and Michelle are both iffy - I guess depends on my mood.

reply

The Beatles have no bad songs. Every song they wrote influenced another song down the line you probably loved. When listening to the Beatles, I have never skipped a song...ever.

All of The Beatles songs and albums are amazing!

I love all their songs, and great songs are being listed. A few songs I don't care for that much are:

The Long And Winding Road
I'm Only Sleeping
She's Leaving Home

But i really do love those, just not as much as some others.

"Wait, Dale got Hulk hands?!"

reply

Yellow Submarine is a monstrosity. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is pretty bad, too.

reply

Yellow Submarine is amazing.

Little Child from With the Beatles and Meet the Beatles!. I would say that I don't truly dislike any Beatles songs besides this.

Revolution 9
You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)
Mr. Moonlight
Dig It
Goodnight

Re: The WORST Beatles songs...

wow....the only thing keeping these comments from being "Treason" is the fact they are U.K. and and this is U.S., I wasn't aware there WAS anything bad by the Beatles.....things that not everyone will agree on likely perhaps...but to call it the "WORST" is pushing it a bit far in my opinion

i mean saying that any Beatles song is the "WORST" is like saying Superman or G.I. Joe isn't really "The American Heros". You may not like all their stuff...but to call any of it the "WORST" in their category, is just wrong.

I find it hard to pick a particular song that I cannot listen to. I'm the type of person that tries to find bits and pieces of songs that are great. (Bass lines, guitar riffs etc..)

If I had to put a song that I can't listen to it would probably be Revolution 9. I wouldn't even call it a song really.

Some (dis)honorable mentions...

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da (Cheesy McCartney Song)
Maxwell's Silver Hammer (another Cheesy McCartney Song)
Yellow Submarine (I give it some recognition but come on...its a Ringo song, its gotta be silly)

A lot of their earlier songs were also campy but that was because they were young and that was their style. When they matured, their music did as well. It's still amazing what they accomplished in such a short period of time.

I just cant stand people that say the Beatles aren't good because of Yellow Submarine. You can't judge an entire body of work by an amazing band on one mediocre song.

Dammit, I'm a doctor not a physicist!

I commend you sticking up for the beatles and stuff but i think you'll find this is neither the UK or US.... its the INTERNET!!!

the INTERNET is no more a real place than the telephone or a pen and paper. It's simply a form of communication. The Internet isn't a country like the UK or the US. The Internet is nothing more than a TOOL to USE. When you speak ill of country's music you speak ill of that coountry.

and no you don't have the right to act as though you speak for your whole country. and that is exactly what you are doing. you're acting like everyone in your country thinks the same way.

reply

Im a little bit confused. Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me?

"and no you don't have the right to act as though you speak for your whole country. and that is exactly what you are doing. you're acting like everyone in your country thinks the same way"

How am I acting like everyone in Britain thinks like me? All i said was this was the internet and not a country! What opinion of mine am I using to be a spokesperson for the UK? Im confused because I dont really think you know what your going on about!!

reply

LOL if your so stupid you have to ask, then i don't think you'll understand the answer

reply

Im not stupid im just confused by you because your a moron. You say im stupid but you come out with such excellent drivel, eg...

'the INTERNET is no more a real place than the telephone or a pen and paper.'

reply

no you're just stupid......also if I was such a moron......you wouldn't have any trouble understanding what I'm saying to you, because you would be smarter than me. So you've already proven you're stupid....or at the very least more stupid than a moron since you can't understand what a moron says to you.
