Horrifying---70's music

The dippy music interludes really date it, and spoil the mood.

You don't feel for any of the characters.

The Devils (1971) is a far better movie.

The alternative ending sounds better - with rising from the grave. My DVD is pretty bad partly, because of the dubbing.

Aside from Lom and Kier, the music is the only thing I like about this flick. I'd like to hear a stereo CD.

Sorry.

I like the song that sounded like they were played with a violin, but I didn't like the soundtrack that played over the opening credits that sounded like the Cannibal Holocaust theme. I agree that some parts of the score sounded a little bit too 1970s which wouldn't bother me if the movie actually took place in the 1970s, but it took place in the 18th century. I think a dark, gloomy classical sounding score would've worked better. As I said, I did like some portions of the soundtrack but others didn't fit at times. That's the only flaw I can find in this otherwise wonderful film.

I see I’m very late to the post, but whatever...Oh, the music, lol, it was something else. It’s beautiful, but still feels out of place in this movie in my opinion. I could’ve sworn too that I heard it from one of those Italian cannibal movie, can’t remember which one, it had to be the Jungle Holocaust maybe. I actually liked hearing it here, for to me it was more of a homage at this point since I’ve only just seen Mark Of The Devil now. Moreover, the music was just overused a tad too much. It was melancholic to me, but not sad enough or erie, bad choice in any case.
