Feel like a British Film......
It's not remotely British, but it just feel like it.
Any one else?

I found out only recently that this is not a british movie. It has a british look and feel... which is a good thing in my book.
Sorry about my bad english. It's not my mother tongue...
(Mother tongue... that's funny)!
Yes, now that you mention it, it is true: the constant black humour, the over-the-top posh stupid mother, the English-like mansion, Harold's perfect manners and his so polished ways of speaking for a teenager, the Army old boy boasting about his gun-ho WWII exploits, the beautiful little Jaguar...
shareIt has the feel of two British films made the previous year IMO. 'Loot' and 'Entertaining Mr Sloane.'
shareI thought exactly the same thing. The drab setting and grey weather definitely give it a British feel as does the black/dark/offbeat humour and morbid undertones, Harold's well-spoken mother, Harold's Jaguar, the country-style mansion.
ROCK STARS HAVE KIDNAPPED MY SON
A lot of things from that time -- the bleak, bittersweet melancholy tone circa 1970 -- wound up "feeling British" even when they weren't.

The most profound of sin is tragedy unremembered.
Just watched it for the first time after having been in my Netflix queue for a long while. When I added it I had assumed it was British. I'm not sure why.

The locations had me convinced it took place in England.
Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime.
The only thing British about the film was the mother's accent. It was very obviously set in Northern California.
