these movies just got worse.

YEAH,BUT THEN MARKIE MARK SHOWED UP AND STARTED MAKING OUT WITH MONKEY LADIES...HE SAVED THE DAY!

No matter how bad they got, though, they are still cooler and more exciting than the modern CGI "When Animals Attack" chimpouts. I hate the new movies because they dropped the wonderful Ape culture seen in the 70s movies. Hairy wild Apes are no substitute for Apes in cool armor. Even Tim Burton reliving his childhood sex fantasies about his Zira action figure was better.

reply

too much cgi in the most recent ones.

At least we agree on something.

I ENJOY BOTH VARIATIONS OF THE APE CINEMATIC WORLD...THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER THOUGH.LIKE COMPARING THE O.G. STAR TREK AND NEXT GENERATION.

reply

Possibly, more like comparing Star Trek TOS with the Abrams Trek. You can see how some people could prefer the shiny newer Trek with spiffy effects.
Frankly I haven't really watched the new Apes pictures. I sat through the first one but I only sorta, vaguely watched the second when my wife watched it and after that nothing. But I can see how these films could lead to a future not unlike the one in the original series, with the whole look and culture. They seem to form a sort of extended, rewritten version of events in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes

reply

Speak for yourself. I think this was the best Apes film
