Why did the Rolf's come to the house in the first place?
This was never really clear to me. Was Ben a writer and he's there to do a novel or work on his dissertation as Marian alludes to once she sets up the office? Was it just supposed to be a summer vacation for the family and Auntie to go somewhere else for a few months? They weren't looking to buy the place or make it permanent. Was it ever stated what the specific purpose of their visit was?
