1979 or 2006?

i just watched the orignal and liked it. the first 20 mins are great. how does the new one hold up to the orignal?

1979. Once it had been done before - where is the suspense? Besides in 1979 I really had not seen anything like it. The suspense was incredible at the time. Unfortunatly, I guess I have seen too many plots and become jaded at bit.

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria.

it's hard to compare them because in the second one you already know the caller is in the house. in the first, that was the shock moment. i thought 2006 was entertaining, but there was less suspense due to that.

Indeeeed, they had more balls to do horrible things in movies back then. Because as we've said, in the remake, the kids don't die...is that scary? The babysitter fights off the killer, and goes crackers in the hospital, that's not scary.

...Her going "crackers" in the hospital wasn't supposed to be scary.....

It's half and half.

For one thing, the first twenty minutes of the original is ten times better than the remake as a whole. However, the remake at least keeps to the story and doesn't unnecessarily expand to over a decade.

It's like, you don't even have to watch the film, just the first twenty minutes and you're done.

the 2006 film was really BORING

the 1979 classic is WAY better.

reply

Definitely the 1979 original. Was disappointed for the 2006 remake.

The new is better for me, their not even the same Genre of film ultimately, with the Remake the entire film is like the 1st 20 minutes of this.
