Has there been a better horror movie since the Shining? One could argue greater ones before The Shining such as Psycho, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Halloween, and the classic monster movies, but I can’t think of a better horror movie since The Shining.

shareSeriously, plenty. The Shining has never done it for me. I saw it in the cinema when it came out and it left me cold. I've watched it a couple of time since, and I'm exactly the same. And I'm a huge horror fan, have been since I was a kid. It's obviously well acted and shot, has some great imagery, and uses a fantastic location. But as a horror it completely misses the mark.
