Observations & Musings Regarding the Show….

Some things I’ve observed that don’t make sense & so some of them are my pet peeves about this show. You may disagree, agree or have your own but here goes.

1: Everyone thinks that the amulet has some supernatural meaning or power. But then later on in the 2nd espiosde I think he points out to the lady he’s with that it’s merely a transformer that amplifies the suns power & gives him strength. We’re already used to this concept because of Superman where he had the strength that he did because of Krypton’s sun & the gravity of his planet which is more than earths.

2: IF the amulet was a transformer as he claimed then wouldn’t it burn his chest clean through to the other side of his body by conducting that much power? It must get super hot & so since it rests on his bare chest, wouldn’t he be burned?

3: IF the amulet was only that, then in the pilot how come he was able to teleport it to the boy that he gave it to & then back to himself? That makes it seem to be more than a mere transformer. If you remember the second episode, when it was taken from him after he was arrested & he was in a holding cell, he telepathically communicated to the sheriff’s dog to retrieve it from the sheriff’s desk. WHAT? Why didn’t he just “beam” it to himself like he did then with the child? This time around he had to have it physically given to him? Plot hole? Continuity error?

The premise for this show states something about a “human like” alien from another planet. Uhhh…he DID state in the pilot to the Peruvian guy that he was only human and not a god or a super being like the guy thought he was. Granted his race had advanced mental abilities but he was human none the less. The premise of the show makes “some” sense in the fact that human or not he was by definition “alien” since he was from a different world other than ours. A human “can be” an alien in that circumstance. Just like a foreign national from another country is considered an “alien” in another’s country.

Now I don’t know anything about the world he came from but if you were him & were approached by your kind to go to earth to help the people there, to go on a “mission” to achieve something. Wouldn’t YOU balk after you’re told. “Hey we’ll bury you in a sarcophagus for a few thousand years. Just pick up and go, leave your friends family, wife, way of life, etc & chill for a few thousand. Everything will go like clockwork.”

I’d be like “GTFOH!” How about you? By the time you ever do wake up how would you know that your world even still exists? If it did you could NEVER go back because you wouldn’t have any connection to anyone or anything there for you being here for that long. The people & places that you knew would be long gone. The people you would eventually return to would’ve probably outgrew you & moved on from what you were/are ages ago. That really doesn’t make sense. NO ONE can ever have that kind of discipline. Never mind the fact that it’s just plain stupid for you not to know any of your mission because those details were entrusted to another person, a companion sent with you that wasn’t placed near you but somewhere else on the opposite side of the globe, you don’t know where. GOOD thinking my man.

Again with the amulet, it couldn’t have been merely a transformer as it helped Bennu do many other things than absorb strength/power from the sun. With his heightened mental powers, through it he could do lots of other stuff. Use it to defend himself, disarm people, make him stronger than usual. He even used it to help someone find something lost, he/it had that kind of ability.

Plus upon waking up in our world he went around on his merry way without missing a beat. It seemed like he was acclimated to the things & stuff that he saw & experienced without a visitors usual confusion/bewilderment. Didn’t they ever hear of culture shock? But to Bennu it was the same old, same old, as if he had already been living among us in our time.

Hopefully you think I’ve made some good points. Would love to hear what you think & what are some of your own.
