Dolly or Whitney?

I recently had a disagreement with a friend. I think Dolly's version of I will Always Love You is a much better and sweeter version of this song. Whitney seems to me a little deranged in her version. After all, if a women started screaming at you like Whitney does you'd probably think the was a raving nutter and run a mile. What does everyone else think?

Mmmmmm mmm! His dinner... is in the oven!

Houston bellowed it like a moose.

That's just an ignorant statement. Whitney had an incredible voice and millions knew it, which is why she became so well known. No reason to compare her to a bellowing moose.

-Dad, who's that?
-Oh, that? One of my patients. He's...sick.
-Will he live?
-It's looking grim.

Dolly's version all the way. But I have to admit I'm not a big Whitney fan (I never thought she was even the best singer in her family.) I also like the original version of The Greatest Love of All better than Whitney's version.

Dolly's version is the best. She sang from the heart, Whitney didn't even understand the lyrics.

I really like Whitney's version of it, but Dolly's version does have real heart to it and meaning, and is just better!!! She is a really amazing singer. I also think a little underrated. Never quite the same fame as Whitney.

This is one of my Favorite musicals of all time. It's the one I really remember quite well. I'm not a big musical person, but This one just has it all alone with Dolly's huge heart. Dolly has so many great and amazing songs over the years.

They both have a God-given talent and I think that is why there is a debate about which version is better. Both Dolly and Whitney have unique voices that you do not come across very often. I love Dolly's voice. It is so natural and beautiful. And Whitney's voice is also natural, but so powerful! I love both versions and think that you can't go wrong with either. It's fascinating that one song could work so well for two such different singers. But they both knock it out of the park and do a beautiful job!!!!
