Uhhhhh considering you are still clearly out in the middle of nowhere miles away from anything resembling a major city and the fact that there is a sign directly behind you that says “Entering Hope” I am going to call bullshit on that.
Lol Teasle was a complete dick although not so much in the novel. As for Rambo being hungry he had his knife he would just kill a deer and eat that if he had to. When he said he used the knife for hunting I believe him.
I don't disagree. always said both Teasle and Rambo were dicks, and on a different day, things might have gone differently.
I have no problem with Teasle making sure this smelly drifter didn't stick, but he *could* have let him grab a sandwich and before driving him to the end of town - but then there's be no movie..
Rambo didn't have to be a dick and intentionally piss off Teasle. He made sure Teasle saw him head back into town. He could have waited another 30 seconds for Teasle to be out of sight then went back for a sammich before heading to Portland - but then there'd be no movie..
So how you been Sho? We haven't run into each other much lately.
Yeah, it’s a great story because both men are bullheaded tough guys, one is the elected protector of a sleepy little town and the other is a nomadic war-torn Vet with severe PTSD…
The great action scenes aside just the conflict between these two characters, Teasle and John Rambo, makes this one of my all time favorite movies
These men could have been great friends under different circumstances…lent each other tools, chatted over the hedge, gone fishing together, etc.
What a terrific story!
I’m fine thanks, I’m putting new iron legs on a pre-19th century Wagon Bench seat I picked up from a good friend whose also an antique/Americana nut like me…I’m having a hard time just now, so I’m having an early drink and some Beatles music in my garage
Doing great thanks. Retired and working on some hobbies and some new skills. I restore antique radios and TVs for fun, and am starting to learn clock and watchmaking. I've always loved antiques of all kinds as far back as I can remember.
Here is a pic of the image from a 1951 16" Andrea TV I restored:
The cabinet is rough. I just got it glued back together (hide glue originally) and have to strip and refinish the cabinet. The veneer is good fortunately.
I'd love to see that Wagon Bench if you have pics posted anywhere.
'tis Shatner.. From a Twilight Zone DVD. The episode is called Nick of Time and was the second episode the Shat was in. Most people remember Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, but I like this one better.
This just reminds me of how much better Book Teasle is. In the book, after Rambo comes back into town a 2nd time and goes to a diner, Teasle allows him to get food, lectures him about how he should not have come back, but says he'll allow him one more chance to get out of town. He drives him back to the edge of town and drops him off. Rambo then comes back into town a 3rd time.
