The Huge Amount Of Sugar In His Coffee

That was my favorite part of the film. I was wondering what was going on when the lady at the counter poured an insanely huge amount of sugar into his java while he was reading the newspaper. That was priceless and a good move on that lady's part. She alerted him to the bad guys.

What I found even more interesting was that Harry was so preoccupied with the newspaper and didn't notice and the potential robbers didn't think something was strange with the amount of sugar being poured in.

Yeah they were keeping an eye on her, the robbers would have known and probably shot him in the back or something..

And the shooting scene.. he puts his hand in his jacket, draws and shoots 4-5 of them one by one while they just keep staring at him stupidly their guns drawn, for a while I was confused, was I watching Inspector Callahan or Clark Kent.

reply

Yeah, it would've made more sense if she just casually put a more normal amount of sugar in there.

reply

Yep. The character from the Sergio Leone westerns shot fast enough to take them all. Not sure about Callahan.

she should have put ketchup on his hot dog! that would probably just piss him off so much he'd leave & not come back.

today's special: shrimp ceviche!

I loved the scene but it was funny that you would have 4 heavily armed men just to rob a small diner. WTF? You need to make the scene worth while.

One guy said "good job with that cop". How did he know Harry was a cop?

reply

I also love that scene because there is a feeling that Harry might have understood that something was wrong WHILE she is pouring the sugar, and the audience thinks he might be keeping a poker face while he is reading the newspaper.

Of course, when he walks out of the diner the audience notices that he didn't get the hint, but there was an implication that I think is interesting.
