Why did Rae turn against Jennifer?

I don't think this had ever been addressed but it's apparent that Rae and Jennifer were one time best friends until Rae lured her to the 'wolves' thereby changing her life forever. Now the big question is WHY did she do it?! I suppose that in their 'heydays' Jennifer would get all the 'beans' from dudes when they went to malls,coffee shops and bars while Rae was ignored? Of course it made Rae jealous of Jennifer prompting her to set Jennifer up for that fateful night thereby completing her 'mission of vengeance'! I haven't seen the movie for a long time but I think that's the reason for Rae to betray her best friend. Don't you agree? Any other reason?
