well and the other thing too is that this is 1984. Considering how long Egon, Ray, and Peter got their PhDs before that and the requirements to do continuing education (if any) they proably are not working with the same technology we have today.

After all back then there were dot matrix printers, VCRS, cell phones for the people who did have them literally weighed a ton.

Amusing, but the depressing thing is that there are a lot of people out there that believe that parapsychology has some basis in fact. Nobody ever found any compelling data to support anything. Zener cards are literally the only element of Ghostbusters science that has a real world history... and that history is nothing but questionable, ambiguous and or unrepeatable results.

Ghostbusters is funny, but now we have loads of, often moronic, "paranormal investigators" with TV shows... And those are more annoying and depressing than funny.
