Ended too quickly

The editing at the end... just way too quick. It goes from him being down and basically out, to suddenly winning and the credits rolling in like 1 minute. Don't know what they were thinking with that.

reply

Tempted to end you !!!

reply

Bring it on, bitch

reply

It definitely needed more Joe Esposito.

reply

I have literally just watched a recording of the movie from an Australian digital TV channel. It's probably the 1st time I've watched it in 30 years. I'm angry they completely cut the closing credits altogether except for a single logo that came up on the screen at the very end. Talk about spoiling the moment. I didn't get to hear any of Joe Esposito.

reply

But Joe Esposito plays during the tournament progression montage BEFORE the end credits.

Therefore, unless they actually cut the karate tournament itself (which seems incredibly unlikely), I believe you most certainly did hear Joe Esposito.

reply

I agree, that was very strange and rushed.

reply

yes.

ending should be kreese and his students being try and convicted of criminal assaults.

reply

You’re an IDIOT. If you watched Part II they picked up right after they left off and continued the ending

reply

Actually, you're an idiot.

The beginning of part two was shot for part one but edited out, and then repurposed for part two, making the ending of part one really abrupt.

You shouldn't need to have to rely on the beginning of a sequel to say "Hey here's the rest of the ending for the other movie you watched!"

reply

Edited or not you got your proper ending. You’re a special kind of stupid when you litter the forum with a stupid thread that has already been spelled out for you

reply

It's not an ending when it's literally at the beginning of A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FILM idiot.

People don't walk out of the theater of a movie with an abrupt ending going "maybe a good ending is coming someday"

reply

It already was a good ending…MORON

reply

It was abrupt as fuck. Lots of people thought so.

But apparently, you're sufficiently satisfied in 30 seconds or less.

reply

The beginning of part two was shot for part one but edited out, and then repurposed for part two,

No. It was planned but never actually filmed. The actors (Martin Kove, William Zabka etc) who played Kreese and the Kai students returned to specifically shoot that scene for part two.

reply

That actually makes the current ending seem even more abrupt.

reply

Agreed it does.

reply

I love abrupt endings in movies

reply

Ohhhhh

reply

Ohhhhhh. Didn't know that but it seems much more logical now.

reply

I disagree, I think anything but the ending shown would have been an anti climax. Where could you really go after that final move?

reply

Yeah I've always said we should have gotten the Miyagi vs Kreese scene that opened Part 2. Let's say upon release the movie flopped so no sequels, but over time became a cult classic, we'd be talking about if Miyagi could have defeated Kreese lol.

reply

Needed more Terry Silver.
