why is Karate Kid a 2 hour movie?

Im watching Karate Kid right now and what bugs me about the old movie is that its way too damn long.

So why the fudge is the movie 2 hours? Its not a star wars or a star trek movie.

So why the long running time for Karate Kid anyway?

Its not really that long. Most movies are between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Its just a little over 2 hours. Not by any means short, but not a long movie either,

I don't really see the two hour length as a bad thing. There was more to the story than just Daniel being bullied.

yeah well, 2 hours for a movie such as Karate Kid is still way too damn long.

If I want to watch a long 2 hour movie I can go watch an old Star Wars or an old Star Trek movie
