What's your favorite episode

Mine would have to be "Serenity".

I also like "Twice Stung" for one reason, this quote...

Joanna Remmings: Oh, I've heard about you. You're the guy that does the whatchamacallits, you know: MacGyverisms.
MacGyver: MacGyverisms?

Pain is merely the weakness leaving the body!

Any of the Murdoc episodes are great. But I really like the first season episodes the best. I really like the pilot a lot. Then the second episode where he's in Burma is really cool.

reply

I like the first season episodes that don't involve too much stock footage(like Trumbo's World and Thief of Budapest).

1. Brainwashed. A very well done episode imo.
2. Ghost Ship (Sasquatch)
3. The Widowmaker

It's been so long since I've seen it. The Murdor episodes stand out. Also that one that was supposed to take place in Switzerland with Mayam Bilik(Blossom).

Thief of Budapest.
The Human Factor.
Jack of Lies.
The Challenge.
Halloween Knights.
Children of the Light.
The Gun.
The Coltons. (Man, am I sorry that spin-off never got made).

Hard to pick a favorite. I also loved that some of the episodes, mostly at the beginning, had opening gambits that were basically mini-episodes of their own.

That man is playing Galaga! Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.

The one episode I remember the most when thinking about this show, was the one in which there is a catastrophe in an underground lab. Some dangerous spore or plantlike agent is released into the air. I found it quite scary as a kid!

Edit: it's probably S03E11: Kill Zone. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0638731/

I like the one where Mac is trapped with the pregnant lady and running from her ex-con husband who's trying to kill her. Everything keeps going wrong for them and against them, but Mac triumphs through sheer persistence and perseverance and gives the woman confidence to raise her baby.

I also like the Penny Parker and Dr. Zito episodes as well.

Thread_Killer_of_IMDb is out there. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your post is dead.

The darker episodes are the ones that stick out for me the most when I remember watching the show as a child. The Widowmaker and Cleo Rocks due to Murdoc's inherent creepiness and his violent "deaths", Kill Zone with the uber-lethal microorganism that made the scientist woman rapidly age and die along with her dog, and to some extent Brainwashed with Jack trying to kill MacGyver in a funhouse.

Good Knight Mcgyver Part 1 and 2 is my favorite.

No matter where you go there will always be critics.

reply

I enjoyed those, although they're admittedly not the best of the series.

Funny coincidence. Picked an episode at random to watch last weekend. It had an anti-gang message. In the first ten minutes or so, I kept thinking, "Boy, this looks and feels like I'm watching a CHiPs episode." Lo and behold, the bad guy turned out to be played by none other than Larry Wilcox as a disgruntled ex-cop.

reply

Depends upon my mood. I liked the first season best, overall, because of the opening gambits.

I refuse to be outwitted by a 2-dimensional character in a cheap romantic thriller!

Every Time She Smiles

Teri Hatcher (as Penny Parker) is just adorable! :-)
