shareWe did. I was in middle school - high school from 1983-1989. We had Saturday School (detention on Saturday) detention after school and In-School Suspension which was the worst.

This is one of those habits I see around that I despise. Someone starts a topic, often controversial, and then says discuss. They never give their own views. I don't participate in them for that very reason (except this one since you've articulated my own disdain for the practice.) If someone can't give their own view on a subject they shouldn't be trying generate conflict. Its just a form of trollish behavior.

I had Saturday Detention in high school.
shareMy high school had it lol. I know because I went sophomore year when I got in trouble. But it is not as strict as the movie made it out to be....When I had Saturday detention, it was only 3 hours, not 8. And we just sat there and worked on Homework or read a book, no stupid essay.
