Yeardley Smith said that she recorded a DVD commentary for the movie last year and hoped to see it released this summer. I wonder what happened. I sure hope so. This is ridiculous, it never comes on TV and you have to pay an arm and a leg for the video tape, which every video store in the country that had it no doubt got rid of it long ago when they switched over to DVDs, so exactly HOW is the next generation supposed to find out about it?

There is one that sells for $19.99. I wonder if these are really original or the bootlegs that I see a lot of on other sites? I haven;t heard anything about the official release of the DVD so far. Maybe TruPretender has heard something?

I haven't heard anything actually. I had a friend a few years ago, who had a sister that worked in the DVD biz in the Hollywood Hillz, and she mentioned Helen would be doing a commentary. I see from this video clip, she has.
In my honest opinion, they are probably going to release it when they get more material for the DVD. (nee: they are probably waiting to see if Christian Slater, or Peter Coyote will come back for interviews/ trying to find the deleted material from the film, etc.)
I'd say give it about a year before they accumulate more material to give us a worthwhile DVD.
Just my two cents.

Netflix just released it into there instant Queue yesterday I think. They still have the release date on the dvd as unknown but if it is now streaming online there is obviously a digital format and we should see a dvd soon.

I discovered this movie on Encore about a month or two ago. It's been on heavy rotation on all Encore channels. I keep meaning to tape it since I found out it's unavailable for DVD yet.
I'm not surprised when I saw it on Netflix too because Starz/Encore mostly does many instant streaming stuff on there. It's on my queue now too.
I'm looking forward to a release of this movie and I'm hoping it'll show up in the next year or so. Extras would be amazing and commentary with most of the cast would be great too. I'm all for waiting if fans get some goodies.

lets hope so but my copy is excellent luckily. So many cool movies do not get released from the 80's. Remember NEVER ON TUESDAY, its a classic but unknown, there are many. Hey love the sound of a pierced Diva by the way.
