Yeardley Smith said that she recorded a DVD commentary for the movie last year and hoped to see it released this summer. I wonder what happened. LOL... i totally scored a copy at cdwarehouse like a year ago for 5 dollars!!! it was a a copy made in mexico so the cover is in spanish but the movie is all english!! this is a movie that will always be 80's awesome.

Kind of a bummer that there probably won't be any special features like the commentary Yeardly Smith mentioned, but I'll take it. : )
According to this site the commentary is included: http://www.dvdplanet.com/details.cfm/info/CLP639192. I don't get why Sony is treating their catalog so poorly--why not just put this on Blu? DVD is a dying format.
shareDon't be so picky. I've been waiting years for this release, so just be glad we got this. There's probably not enough demand for a Blu-Ray release to justify the expense of a release. Besides, even though DVD is dying, it's still backwards compatible with BR players. So, it's not like you're going to wake up one day and not have anything to play it on. As long as BR players are around, you'll still be able to watch it. Also, an HD release probably wouldn't be that much improvement over the DVD. I've noticed that a lot with older movies. They might have slightly more detail than the DVD release, but over all the picture quality isn't that much better.
