co was origin suppose to be play by john travolta. she is not token. sly cast actor in his film on merit. if she in film then sly was impress with her audition.

co has purpose in rambo 2 - she take rambo to pow camp and then she help rescue rambo. she also bring out rambos soft side when she tell him he not expendable and give him kiss.

co was good character play by good sexy actor and well written role. if rambo 2 come out today then co would be rambo and rambo would be co. co would kill everyone and rambo be pussy. this is what all you pc retard want when you complain about roles in past film. you ignore that co was in good film and she kick ass.

co was origin suppose to be play by john travolta

No, this is incorrect. Co Bao was very much her own character even in the original James Cameron 1st draft of the script. The John Travolta-character was also his own, separate entity. It was originally meant to be the 3 of them doing the mission, Sly, Travolta, and Julia Nickson, as a team, before Sly rewrote the whole thing.

Also, "Co not expendable". She was Rambo's guide in the area, she had the necessary connections with the local river pirates needed to make them help, and her own help was invaluable later when she helped Rambo escape from the camp. Rambo even acknowledges this later. Co was far from your disposable "fridge girl".

Co was far from your disposable "fridge girl".

The thing is, the "fridge girl" trope doesn't even really exist.

There was one comic where Green Lantern's girlfriend was mutilated and stuffed in a refrigerator and it psychologically broke him and sent him down a practically irrecoverable spiral, yet somehow it turned into a feminist movement to make every female character a Mary Sue or -- as BO mentioned -- a Rambo-tier character with hardly any (or no) flaws at all.

What's funny is every time I ask Lefties who all these refrigerator women are, they can never say. Most aren't even aware of where that term came from, and oftentimes they have no viable examples where it even applies.

reply

sjws are retard. if they make rambo then they want female character to be like rambo. they dont even know film like rambo 2 and how awesome it is and how it have well written female character.

reply

Yup. This applies across the board, though, for a ton of movies made before the year 2000.

SJWs really are retarded and don't know anything. They always say "Until this recent movie came out, there were no female super heroes!" or "This is the first female (insert noun here)".

They basically erase anything before the present day. There were plenty of empowered female characters in films throughout the history of film, and were much better written than any of today's female characters. I especially liked the films from the 1970s because characters back then felt very real and very grounded, and it made you appreciate them for their strong character traits rather than some Mary-Sue tier abilities.

I think one of the only good recent examples of an empowered female character who didn't have to be Rambo-tier was the pregnant wife in the film Train To Busan. She was smart and useful even though she was pregnant, and she didn't have to be some uber Mary-Sue badass to be likable. If that were a Western-made film, they would surely have made her physically manhandling zombies the way her husband did.

usual woman hating babble, what the fuck are you on about??
Its the same now as it was then .

Saying women in films past were more valid than today is just dumb.

Like when the same group of people say "This black man is just ticking boxes , in the past the part was well written and required a black man "

There are no movies like Michael Mann's Thief made today.

Nothing like Steve McQueen's Get Carter, or The Getaway, or Frankenheimer's Grand Prix (and don't you dare say Ford vs Ferrari).

There is nothing like the original Alien, or as smart as The Andromeda Strain, or as masculine as The Omega Man, the original Conan, or Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. We get nothing close to the likes of the original Magnum Force or films like Smokey & The Bandit or Deliverance. Nothing like the original Gloria, or Southern Comfort.

Today's films are filled with soyfied male characters and Rambo-tier Mary Sue females. Also, attractive, eye-candy female leads like Faye Dunaway in The Towering Inferno, or Julia Nickson from Rambo II are completely absent from many of today's Western-made films.

Jason stathams making some action films, and the Bautista.

but mainly I blame all the Marvel and DC shit for the state of todays movie industry

reply

LOL hilarious how you mention that Jason Statham SOMETIMES makes action films. And those films are hit or miss. Wrath of Man was good, but everything else he's done before and after has not been.

I can't even remember the last action film Bautista made? He has the build and voice to be a super badass action hero, but he hasn't made one badass action hero film.

reply

There was the one where He's in New York whilst a bunch of militia clowns are trying to take over the country somehow ....

That was OK
I think he was defending a fairly helpless female too

reply

That movie was really dumb, though. And he was a reluctant and kind of an aloof ex-army medic in that film -- I think Bushwick or something?

That film could have been good but it was outright dumb. I liked the concept of the film and the way it was filmed, but it was just dumb, and he had no cool action scenes in that one; only one fight scene that was kind of okay.

He should have been in films like Commando, or The Rundown, or The Meg, or action-horror films like 30 Days of Night, or horror-thrillers like The Thing, or action-thrillers like Extraction or Death Wish.

yes there are many great female character throughout film historys who were play by many great female actor. when jiizz face jlaw says there is no female action character before now it just confirm she is ignorant philistine who know nothing of film and should not be actor. she embodys how shit hollywood is today!!

one key aspects of great female action character who work is it need talent actress and then man who write & create character, and man direct actor in performance. james cameron, ridleys scott, john carpenters etc.

unfortunately if female try to write or direct action female character themselfs then the female become mary sue. the force awakes is worst examples of this because even though man write/direct this film, it is kathleen kennedys who dictate & create character to be mary sue. all other female action character like this today and are shit female action characters because they are written by shit director/writer (most man hate feminist woketard) and play by shit actor who not tough!!.

other good tough action woman apart from GOATs co, ripley and sarah connor:

erika eleniak - under siege
sandahl bergman - conan the barbarian, red sonya
maria conchitas alonso - predator 2 and running mans
bridget nielson - cobra and red sonya
nancy allen - robocop 1-3
gina davis - cuttthorat islands
jamie lee curtin - true lie

reply

Ah, I'm shocked you put Cutthroat Island for Geena Lee Davis instead of The Long Kiss Goodnight.

reply

yes yes i forget that one!! great film! and i also forgets carrie fisher in original goat star wars trilogy. not too mention vasquez from aliens another goat action character.

many great female action star throughout historys. these woketard feminist with there victim complex no nothing of film! they just know how to destroy film with there agenda and politics.

today woketards just want to be rambo and terminator and commando and for men character to be pussy. take for examples the film commando. if that film come out today then a mary sue would play commando part by arnie, and man play part by ray dawn chong, and film be shit!!!!

you are correct go back to 1970s and find many great parts for action female. jizz face jlaw etc are all shit actors from school of mary sue character. no nothing of female action character.

reply

They may have picked up a weapon at some point,
but Erika E and Bridgette B were pure eye candy in those movies , not "action women"

i am very glad stallone rewrite cameron script. stallone understand rambo character better than cameron.

i like cameron but his co would be like sarah connor.

Rambo: First Blood Part II would have been a very different sequel if not for the changes Sylvester Stallone made to James Cameron’s original script.

She was in a significant part of the movie, and she was an asset in the assault. She had a fully developed character, but she happened to get killed. That isn't how the "fridge" trope is used.
