"Save Ferris" makes no sense
So, people heard his lie about POSSIBLY needing a 'kidney transplant' (lie about possibility shouldn't make anyone this worked up, but whatever), which leads to some people trying to gather 'fifty Gs or so' to help him.
Uh, what?
This makes no sense. First of all, people that care enough about Ferris to want to start or support a massive campaign to collect 50 000 dollars (which I presume the 'fifty Gs' means) to buy him a kidney, would KNOW that his family is incredibly wealthy. Look at their house, does that look like the humble abode of someone that couldn't afford a 50 000 dollars to save their family member?
Everyone would know Ferris is extremely wealthy, so why would he need help to get such a tiny amount (that house would be worth so much more than that, it's mind-boggling), which means this whole 'Save Ferris'-stuff makes no sense, no one should be collecting MONEY for him at least.
While they are at it, why not collect money to fly him to some exotic location for experimental treatment, or at least some European specialists? Where's the imagination, why only kidney transplant?
In any case, it's never really established why so many people care about Ferris this much - regular cops in some Chicago police station somehow care about some random teenager kid that lives in the suburbs?
It makes no sense to collect money for him, but even if it did, would it make sense to ask people to give COINS? How long is THAT going to take? What if he doesn't need it, what are you going to use the 50 000 for? It's like a really bad, stupid kickstarter campaign, but done without computers..
Why doesn't the angry sister tell the truth about him to everyone, why doesn't she report to the principal that Ferris isn't really sick?
As a sidenote, WHERE are the parents looking at in the beginning? Look at the part where Ferris 'winks' at her sister and motions the 'sshh' with his finger to her. The sister says something and the mom turns around to face her.
WHERE was she facing at the VERY MOMENT when Ferris did those gestures to her? Do the parents think that's just part of the illness, or why wouldn't they be suspicious at such gestures since they presumably are looking STRAIGHT AT FERRIS THE WHOLE TIME HE DOES IT?
I am telling ya, nothing about this movie makes a heckuva lot of sense..
