I actually remember the comic book this movie was based on. It was so bad that if you read it, your mom burst into flames. When the Hollywood producer who greenlighted this to become a movie gave his approval, his mom and his grandma burst into flames. If you watch this, your mom will not burst into flames. BUT if you watch this and then come back and try to say anything redeeming about it on the imdb discussion board, your mom, your grandma, and Katie Corcoran, that girl you liked in 5th grade, will burst into flames.

It's so bad I decided to sit through thinking nothing could be that bad - that it would eventually get better.

I should have turned it off and kept my faith! 🙈

I saw this movie in the theater in 1986 with a date thinking the same thing. It has to get better. It never did. We would have been better off leaving early. The two of us walked out of the theater at the end of the movie in disbelief we had to pay money to see this. I think the words "This movie was a bomb" left our lips as well. You can't believe how hyped this movie was when it was first released. I have been wary of overly hyped movies ever since.
