Just watched it for the first time

And if somebody would have warned me it was just 2 hours of Robin Williams doing bad standup I could have saved me the hours.

The jokes where bad, the script was bad and for based on a true story, it was really unrealistic.

They probably started with a more serious script and idea and then when Williams was cast they just thought fuck it and let him do what he wanted to do.

And I agree there really isn't a whole lot going on in the film.

The only parts that were worth watching was when Robin was doing the famous line and cracking jokes on the radio, and when the asshole who replaced him got some brutally honest hate mail. Everything else was really messed up.

It's pretty much your typical anti-war film. While it is partially based on the life of a real radio DJ that worked in Vietnam, most of the film is fiction.
