I completely agree, more entertaining than most.

Try watching some old gangster films from the 30s, a few of them are about the good guys. Also Carlitos' way is about a reformed gangster, he more or less is a good guy being dragged down by bad guys. Dick Tracy is another film about good guys & Donnie Brasco Director's Cut.

Try "The Departed" - cops & gangsters, to be sure, but it weighs each side equally.

The best DiCaprio's movie among his projects with Scorsese!

man, "key largo" (1948) with like the greatest dialogue ever, i got reminded of that during the barber scene by the way. you know i never thought of that, but you've got a point there about this being about the good guys and not a glamorisation, the music during the shootout on the bridge was a bit distracting, i mean how the moviemakers places it at an odd place, but a cool scene overall, i see many brings the music up, by the way, i had no idea ennio morricone made the soundtrack to this (maybe that's why they went overboard), but i just saw clips from this movie on cnn newsroom in a segment about ennio morricone, i only knew him from 1960s westerns until i recently bought a cd titled "ennio morricone film favorites" (released by bmg in 1990) surprisingly "the good, the bad and the ugly" is not featured, am i the only one who was blown away by the fact he was still around? i didn't know how old he was, only that the movies are, i thought he'd been gone since ages ago, apparently he even won an oscar in 2016 if i heard it right. i didn't catch all of this as it was airing and got surprised by costners reaction after he shot a guy, this is the second movie i see that ends with him in court, though this might be the first movie i see where connery uses swearing words, i guess perhaps that's why i found it sounding so funny, also the title of the movie keep being up as credits appear was something different. the guy on the poster/cover looks like rod steiger, it wasn't until i started watching i realised it was deniro. for years i've been watching the "naked gun" movies, this was the first time i realised the opening scene in naked gun 3 comes from this.

for days thought you were a goner,
now every morn wake up by your knockers,
as your name on my door,
feels good to be near your soul,
no tricks of evil to expect,
as heart read you perfect,
everyday wake up to your knock on my head.

And the source material from which the scene originated is the Russian movie Battleship Potemkin.

That's an interesting insight! 😮Never seen it in that perspective. I love this movie.
