Even with the most hideous clothing

Madchen Amick was still beautiful. I would have preferred to see her as a regular on the show than some of the others.

Is this on Netflix?

I don't think so. It's not in Canada. I don't even know if it's included with any of the seasons as I don't know if it's considered the pilot episode or not.

reply

It might be on You tube. I know Baywatch Hawaii is.

reply

I don't know about anywhere else, but it is now available on Amazon Prime in Canada.

Baywatch just got released on Hulu and I just watched this episode. I suppose in 1989 it was a thought provoking episode but in 2019 it was really cheesy. Laurie's fanny pack was enormous!

reply

I had this taped when it was first on tv and even as a teenager in the 80's I thought it was cheesy, but it was a good cheesy then.

I am on Season 2, the stories are so thin and lame, Its hard to believe this last 11 years. The first season was pretty decent and had lots of action.

reply

I made it through the first season, and then I wasn't happy with season 2 so I stopped. But I still enjoy this pilot for all it's cheesiness.

reply

Did you stop watching after Season 2, lol?

reply

Forgot all about this, but I did finish the entire series. It took me about 9 months to watch it all. It was a fun ride down memory lane. I even watched the movie, which was even worse than the series. Also I had no idea that Jason Momoa was in Baywatch.

In the end Mitch ended up single which I thought was an odd way to wrap up the series.

The pilot episode got me hooked. It was definitely better than I expected. However, the fact that it ran for 11 seasons and has a 5.4 rating on IMDb still worries me. But at this point, I hope I can finish it and enjoy it until the end.

I think there is also a spin-off show with Mitch.

I was a Baywatch fan back in the day and I can personally testify that not once from 1989-2001 was it ever "thought-provoking." Baywatch Nights, however... now THERE was some thinking man's TV.

I just watched it, and I absolutely loved it. I was never aware of how so beautiful Mädchen Amick was in the late '80s. What I find odd is that they were laughing at Mitch for wearing shoes. I don't think they looked bad.
