Yes. Kids that age and during those years would not want he-man.

But it still sounds funny even though it doesnt work.

While I somewhat agree it's still funny hearing them yell He Man. Plus Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles takes too long to say.

Yeah. Last Action Hero referenced Freddy Kruger and King Kong and Sony didn't own the rights to them. So therefore they could probably reference Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Though like I said it'd take too long to say Ninja Turtles.

Yep, I totally felt it that way when I saw it in theatres and I was a kid.
I thought "He man? What old geezer wrote this crap!"
