Can’t imagine him as Marty McFly taking on Biff Tannen.

Yeah, his whole gimmick was that he lacked confidence in himself.

He would have been fighting against his famed Karate Kid role every step of the way as Marty McFly.

It would have been too much of a close comparison.

Macchio probably got discouraged from Back to the Future hemorrhaging lead actors, causing him to think it was a shaky project to invest time in.
