Why isn't Disney doing a live action Little Mermaid remake?

I know another company is doing a live action Little Mermaid adaptation but how come Disney isn't doing a live action remake?

They have one now. With great actors but unfortunately a very safe approach to the theme. It's not the skin color of the actors not their thespian capacity but the crappy screenwriting that gets you in the new rendition. Still, a somewhat fun watch IMHO. Go watch it! (It made millions)

My teenage daughter didn't like it. She says Hailey Baille is the only thing that saved that version.
