...that woman who sells tires!

So, not only does it seem to me that the mom's dislike for Buck is the main reason Buck has been banned from their house but when she is listing all of the reasons Buck would make an unsuitable babysitter and she refers to Shanice as "that woman who sells tires!", she comes off as so insufferably snobby and judgmental. I mean Shanice seemed like a perfectly nice and decent person. So what if she sold tires? Is that something to be ashamed of? And not only that, but judging by the name of the tire shop, Kobalowski Tires, she owned the business and probably worked her butt off. Not to mention that the mom hasn't even bothered to learn the name of the woman whom her brother-in-law has been dating long enough to consider marriage with.

What a bitch.

Yeah she was a stuck up snob! 

Thanks for pointing that out. Buck's girlfriend really had her act together. It's the mother that's a terrible piece of work. I know it's a comedy, but that would hurt deeply to see your photo folded out of view in the family photo book like that. Tia really had no logical reason not to like their Uncle Buck, since she never really got to know him. So it must have all come from the mother. The writer did a good job of setting it up why Tia didn't like Uncle Buck and he had to win her over. But the premise rings true because in many families children grow up hearing negative things about some relatives without even meeting them to decide for themselves.

It was no wonder why Tia was so horrible. Her mother was an uptight, snobby witch. She talks horribly about Buck, and treats him like a dog. She talks bad about Chanice, and refers to her as "that woman who sells tires" when it is clear that Chanice owns the shop. She seems to think she's above everyone else. Buck came out there to help them out in an emergency, and all she does is $h|+ on him. At least you can blame teen angst on Tia's behavior, but the mom has no excuses.

Yep, she was a snob with a chip on her shoulder. Unfairly judgement. Hiding him in the wedding photo was cruel

The mother role was perfectly cast and played as the suburban, over-reaching, uptight PITA, which set the stage for the perfectly uptight house (material condition, decorating, and vibes), the poor relationship with the daughter, husband, and Uncle Buck.

If the mother had been normal, the movie would not had the right emotional "texture."

Of course she was a biotch, she had to be to make the movie work.

It's called delusion. She hated Buck so bad she suspended reality and thought poorly of everyone and everything linked to Buck without using any logic or facts whatsoever

I didn't like Cindy either because she seems to have a strong disdain towards working class people and feels they're beneath her, I actually thought she was even worse than Bug TBH.

What a horrible person. I got to know 2-3 families with a domineering wife and a passive and maybe little insecure husband and most of the time it's bad combination to the children (not always, depends on the character of the woman. You can be domineering but with good judgment).

It's really made me angry when I found out she made her husband cut off contact from his own brother. She didn't even invited him to visit her home, it's make no sense, I can understand why she didn't want an irresponsible person to look after her children but not inviting him as a guest at home is really hateful behavior.

The wedding album scene is another level of evil.

There are no excuse for her condescension towards the really good heart and hard working Shanice.
