They should do a new movie like this but modernized for the now times.

shareI don't think it would work in the same way. In the original Douglas' character is portrayed as sympathetic now they would just paint him up as some kind of privileged white man who is a "Despicable" etc They wouldn't go into how or why he is feeling the way he does at all.
They would just show him driving a truck through a BLM crowd then assaulting some women before shooting up a Gay Pride march or something.
Hollywood would fuck it up, they'd put that ugly black woman (I think she's a woman) who was in the female Ghostbusters POS, in the Michael Douglas role. The Robert Duvall roll would be played by Ken Jong. It would be a travesty.
They couldn't address "Karens to colleges to snowflakes" because those are all woke targets, and Hollywood has totally embraced wokeness.
