Ututsu Mujuru (The blind swordsman) was great, he was such a noble and honorable fighter as he fought both jubei and the girl at the same time...i think if he fought jubei 10 times he would win half the time

"HOLY CRAP, *beep* OWNED BITCH"
Then I calmed down.
I also liked the blind swordsman, he had the cleverest set up of the bunch.
Benisato (snake lady) was cool, but she died too early.
Many of these enemys are similar to the ones in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Which I believe was from the same animation studio. Did they take some ideas from Ninja Scroll or are the demons traditional Japanese figures?

Gemma.. the fight scene ( IMO ) was incredible ( when I first watched it - seems shorter now that I remembered it ). LOL and the whole "I can't DIE!".

My reasons are in line with the others that have stated this charcter as their favorite devil.
I still remember his line when Kagero's last minute launch of her sword saves Jubei from getting killed. I remember pausing, rewinding, and watching the scene over and over to see what really happened.
"It can't be".
Utsutsu knew he could beat Jubei. Remember it was Jubei that lead Utsutsu into the forest.
Don't get me wront, Jubei is the hero in the movie and I totally identify with him.

EVERYONE LIKES THE BLIND DUDE. YEAH HE WAS GREAT... AND EVERYONE LIKES TSAI. THEIR POWERS WERE SIMPLE. TSAI COULD ONLY TURN INTO ROCK AND HIS WEAPON WASN'T A POWER... JUST A SKILL. LIKE JUBEI'S WIND SLASH. DAHKUAN (OLD MAN) HAD A POWER... TURNING INTO A TREE BRANCH TO BLEND IN, WHILE LEAVING A QUICK DECOY BEHIND WAS DEFIANTELY A POWER. MY FAV WAS DEFINATLY SHUJIMA. THIS GUY NOT ONLY HAD AN AWESOME WEAPON... (THE RETRACTABLE CLAW) HIS POWERS WERE AWESOME... HE COULD HIDE IN THE SHADOWS AND MOVE IN THEM... REPLICATE HIMSELF INTO DECOYS TO HIDE WHICH ONE HE IS (ALTHOUGH AGAINST JUBEI IT DIDN'T GO SO WELL)... AND POSESS PEOPLE TO DO WHAT HE WANTS. DEFINATELY A BADASS. EVERYONE PLACES HIM LOW ON THEIR LIST. HE DESERVES MORE CREDIT. BUT I THINK ALL THE DEMONS SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER. THE MOVIE COULD HAVE BEEN STRETCHED INTO 2 MOVIES EASILY IF THE FIGHTS WERE LONGER. SO MANY PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD ALREADY HAVE SAID THAT THIS DEMON OR THAT DEMON DIES TO QUICKLY. COULDA BEEN TWO GREAT MOVIES INSTEAD OF 1 AMAZING ONE. IMHO

shareSince we're correcting people, it's time people used the main villain's real name - GENMA. For some reason, the Manga DVD has misleading subtitles that call him 'Gemma'. That isn't a word in the Japanese language, whereas Genma is a word with supernatural connotations and often means 'demi-god'.

Snakes indeed are reptiles. But reptiles are a type of ANIMAL. Other types include mammals (ie us, dogs, etc...), amphibians (frogs, toads, etc...), birds (eagles, owls, etc...), and so on...
1. Blind swordsman. A cool badass.
2. Shadow-melder. Creepy as hell.
3. Stone man. Angry and powerful.
