Does Wallace use an anti-Semitic slur in this?

Watching the tape I have, after the robbery the penguin locks Wallace in the closet and starts to put the diamond in a bag. I hear Wallace shout "I'll give you what-for, you *beep*

Did I mishear this?

EDIT: I got beeped!? Wallace used the word KITE. Change the T to a K.

A "Tyke" is an expreession used by us Lancastrians about folk in general, and Yorkshire folk specifically in a derogatory, but not overly unfriendly way. Given Wallace's apparent age and background, it's the sort of thing I'd expect him to say. really.

Yes. The original meaning of “tyke” is “mongrel, dog of no breeding or value”. It’s still used in this sense in Northern England: “Is thy dog a whippet?” “Nay, he’s nobbut [= nothing but] a tyke.”.

Yorkshiremen call themselves “tykes” in a “we’re just rough crude Northern types and proud of it” sense. All other uses are more or less derogatory. Calling a child a tyke means that he’s a young rascal or hooligan: “The little tykes bunked off school and went shoplifting.”.

Kite is not an anti-Semitic slur, K Y K E or K I K E is the slur, it's the US equivalent of Yid. You wouldn't want to say it to a Jew, especially a big one.

And yeah, Wallace said 'tyke', it's a fairly comical word for a nuisance, like calling someone a scamp or a rascal.

Having just finished watching this for the first time, I came on this page to see if anyone was talking about this. I listened to this part about ten times and both me any my girlfriend definitely hear Wallace call the penguin a slur. He does not say "Tyke". But that same word with a K at the front instead of a T. Listen to it again.

The only way to be sure is to watch with subtitles.

And besides, who cares?
Not my problem.

Damn I'm good.
