I think she would have been able to pull that scam off for about 3 minutes before the cops were called.

I was just watching this the other day and thinking the same thing.

shareWell yeah, but also how many people would have someone come up to them like "hey can you give me your money and I'll pay for your gas/snacks with my credit card" and be like "ok sure sounds legit!!!" Also these days, credit cards are monitored so tightly that if someone spent that much in such a short time, they would have called her dad and been like "did you get scammed" and it wouldn't have worked.

She wasn't "working" there and she wasn't scamming anybody, except maybe (maybe!) her father. I say maybe b/c her dad said he would pay the card for a full year, with no limits, restrictions, or conditions. All she did at the gas station was tell people that she would pay for the gas with her card and she would take the cash.
She was being unfair to her father and her behavior was clearly unethical with respect to him but there was no scam, strictly speaking.
She was pretty enough to keep getting away with it.
