Apparently, a really hard shoot.

Super hot. Extra long hours. Dangerous stunts. Joe Stevens and MM were method actors and roughed up some of the cast. All kinds of unnecessary injuries. I think there was even a meeting at one point where they tried to get the director to rein this shit in.

Kim Henkel was an assistant to the Director of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 1974 and the actors from that film had similar complaints. The low budget gonzo-style filmmaking that Henkel was accustomed to was on its way out in the early 90s. Times had changed and this type of filmmaking wasn’t tolerated as much as it was in the 70s. Just think about it; today’s young actors would be very unlikely to tolerate the same conditions as these folks did for such a low-rent film.
