“If you could give your AGGGGGxygen tanks a stir!”


Did the delivery of that line seem awkward to anyone else? I always thought it was too forced. I get that they wanted to emphasize the importance of the stir causing the explosion, but come on.

I think you've seen this one too many times. Sometimes, lines are deliberately delivered by the actor because the viewers may not understand what was said if the word or expression it's not part of normal daily life or speech.

For instance, in the movie Airplane!, when asked if she would like some reading material, the old lady asked for "something l i g h t" to make sure the audience heard it otherwise the tiny leaflet of Greatest Jewish Athletes wouldn't have been funny.

I've seen this move 50 times and never thought the word "oxygen" was overly exaggerated - until now I guess a little bit. Once you hear something, you become sensitive to it from that point on.
