Films always do this- cast someone way better looking than the real character, but jeez.

In fairness, Deniro was a bit better looking than Frank Rosenthal too. I've seen some pictures of Geri when she was younger and she's not a bad looking girl. What I find most unattractive about her probably has more to do with the fashions of the time than her actual looks.

This. I've seen pictures of her in which she looked fairly attractive. No Sharon Stone, but I wouldn't call her "skanky ugly".
