Why did Ginger tie her own daughter up?

What purpose would it serve for Ginger to tie up Amy like that? Did she really think that Sam wouldn't come home and find out? I get that she was probably drunk or on drugs, but even then it seems really pointless to do that.

So the girl doesn't turn on the stove, drink the bleach under the sink, or run the tub without watching it. It's really a fix to any issue. Good job Ginger. Thinking outside the box.

Way to spin a negative into a positive!
I love it!

At that point in time Ginger was a slave to her drug addiction. People locking their kids in a closet or bedroom to go out drinking, drugging, or gambling is not unheard of unfortunately.

reply

Because she was a junkie.

But did she have a motive to actually tie her? I certainly agree that she was likely stoned when she did it.

reply

Unfortunately for Amy, Ginger had developed an affinity for both BDSM and incest.... All at the same time

lol

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I think she wanted to demonstrate she had control of something (since she clearly had no control over herself).

reply

Like the other poster said, it's too make sure the kid stays in bed and not do anything else when she's not home.

My answer requires abstract thought. Don't focus on the literal and it will make more sense.

You're putting too much thought on a drug addict.

This movie is how old and you're now just punching holes in this in 2024?? 🤔
