one of the worst movies ever

This movie is terrible--the acting sucked, the story sucked, the pseudo Christian mythology sucked; I didn't enjoy one thing about this peice of trash. Just another rot job.

reply

I agree! It's a terrible movie.

reply

good for you. I liked it, well actually I only liked Gabriel, other than that I didn't really pay attention to the actual story.

reply

It was disturbing because I like Arnold and I like action but at every turn the thing felt forced and somehow unholy and unclean for an action movie of the first echelon. But I dont' know why?

I think it was not only the copying of elements from Terminator 2 but also copying the exact shot and timing of the elements from Terminator 2. The fights where Arnold is grappling the liquid metal robot and slamming him a certain way into walls is done with the same handholds. The Arnold face from Total Recall when he is in the machine is done the same way when he is fighting possession. The whole running theme of rape and having to see the actress think about it; I kept wondering man how do rape survivors like this thing. The whole evil police and evil stepmother and evil buddy thing just leaves a bad taste.

The stupid crucifixion scene with Arnold then suffering in the rain but a few strips of bandages and fifteen seconds later and he is back giving attitude. Which was false the recovery or the whole crucifixion? How did he get away alive from a hundred zombies who, you'd think, would want to kill him by then. Why was he kept alive by the dark lord when he had no powers and the Devil could do anything at will? YET somehow powerless at every turn he manages to thwart the Devil for two hours of screen time.

Too much a waste of time...

It was like a cut and paste job on an English paper assignment.

well, this one sucks.

Too much thought went into that post. However true, this movie is so horrible it was not worth the effort wasted typing this message or that message...

Garbage.

reply

Arnold telling Satan to "go to hell!" renders every criticism of this film useless.

"Do we get to win this time?" -- John Rambo

reply

this was a great action film. Arnie at his best.

Faaan 'blady' tastic! I'm watchin it now (again) and I must say, as cheesy and as lame as it is at times, it's frikin class! Lubin it!

reply

This is definitely not the worst movie ever, and it's not even one of Arnolds worst movies! I liked it mostly due to Gabriel Byrnes, but if you want to see a bad movie with Arnie in it, go watch him in one of his first films, Hercules.
And then come back here and tell me this is a bad film.

The Blood is the Life!

(as in "Cheers! I agree. This film completely and totally SUCKS." - I couldn't agree more)

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

What sort of a dumbass cheers people when agreeing with them?

reply

@Too313 The whole running theme of rape and having to see the actress think about it; I kept wondering man how do rape survivors like this thing.
Not to mention the ending where Arnold becomes the would-be rapist. Very creepy.

reply

I just watched End of Days and it was pretty frickin awesome. Going into it, I knew that the acting wouldn't be great, but Arnold and Gabriel Byrne did pretty well. Plus, it was very entertaining and filled with great action sequences.

Last movie seen:
End of Days 9/10

reply

I think this is Arnie's worst mainstream movie (although I'm not a fan of the Conan films), but it did give us a classic quote.

"You want to ***k with me!!!!..."

reply

Oh it sucked did it? Fantastically brilliantly put you ignorant fud!

How about a few reasons and back ups as opposed to a generic "this is *beep* comment which any monkey with a pc could write...mind you, you're not a monkey with a pc are you? If you are then I apologise for being so hard on you, well done on learning how to type.

reply

No, it isn't. If you think this is one of the worst, you clearly haven't seen much movies.

reply

One of the worst movies ever? Ya right.

I didn't think it was that bad at all, and any movie with Arnold in it is at least 6/10.

reply

I agree with you, Ferago. It is far from the worst movie I have ever seen (I could name dozens of movies that were REALLY bad: this one was not a masterpiece, of course, but I thought it was quite decent for what it was, which is a dark but entertaining action-oriented horror movie with a rather ok performance by Schwarzenneger, and some good performances by Byrne and the actress who was playing Christine). It is no Terminator or True Lies, but it works for me nevertheless.

Bill Foster: I'm the bad guy?...How did that happen?

reply

i enjoyed when it came out at the time, i'd prolly watch it again

This film is utter trash.

'Ziggy Piggy'

It's one of the constants in the universe: for every movie in existence there is always at least one muppet who claims that it's one of the worst if not the worst movie ever. And sure enough it's ridiculous every time. These people never have seen REALLY bad movies.

Try on The Dark Lurking for size. That's a really bad movie, but not even that one qualifies for the title "one of the worst movies ever". Put on some perspective, people, will ya? Not liking a movie, because of personal taste, is not the same as having watched a bad movie. Not by a long shot.

I admire many of these posts simply for their positivity.

I feel that this movie is a fine representation of 'bad movie making' in general.

This had a mega budget with mega stars yet it simply failed to be convincing which, irrespective of taste, confirms to me that it's a rip off. I went to see this at the cinema and felt as though I'd been conned into paying for a ticket.

That's why people say it's one of the worst movies ever because they've been led to believe it'll be worth the cash by the reputations of those involved.

"Get to the chopper!"
(now ^thats^ a good movie!)

reply

I definately hated it because of Arnold, they should have gotten a different guy, maybe a new face and the plot wasn't so bad just the cast.

reply

This is one of the worst movies that Schwarzenegger made and also the worst movie that Peter Hyams directed.

It just sucked, it was not good as an action film and not even as an horror film !

reply

While lackluster, I am somewhat biased for this film because in my memory The Sixth Day came out just a few months later and I praised this film for at least having the balls to rip off films that didn't already star Schwarzenegger, The Sixth Day just SCREAMED Total Recall its whole running time

reply

@garrettok31 I agree with you about The Sixth Day/Total Recall, but for me End Of Days just screamed Terminator 2.

Arnold has to battle an indestructible foe (who heals after being riddled with bullets) in order to protect a youngster who will save the world. Sound familiar?
