The sex scene!!!! Also a question for some of you.

I really enjoyed that one. I definitely think that they should have extended the sex scene at least for a couple of minutes. The best part was when the mother kisses the daughter while getting screwed by the devil.

How many of you out there would fantasize to something of that nature?

Be honest!!

ha ha after nearly a month with no reply??? Only you evidently. ha ha.

Hi ItalianStallion-1900! (how conceited ;-)

How are you doing ?

Well I didn't enjoy that scene, it was really useless for the movie.

I personally thought it was almost sick.

There, I've been honest.

Have a nice day.

I wouldn't mind seeing that in a hentai... except for the "merging" part.

I'm a very open-minded guy, and no fan of Christianity, and I thought it was a totally pointless, exploitative scene, but then I loathe this movie generally. Apparently it was originally scripted as longer and more graphic? I seem to recall the mother masturbating the daughter in this bit as well as kissing, so goes to show how far they were going with it, not to push cinematic boundaries, but to draw attention with cheap sensationalism, IMO.
However, it seemed to me that with Udo Kier as the murdering Satanic-cultist husband and dad, that scene could represent what the family are like normally, not just under Satans' influence. Or it could easily be the daughter is not really theirs' biologically.

But regardless, it was just another bit of a trashy and trivial film about one of the most overrated, oversourced and overused mythologies ever: the Bible.

I thought that was sick too; the incestuous kissing and the merging.

i think the whole point to the scene was to show us how the devil is.
immoral without boundries.
also to show how his 'followers' no matter how loyal they are never really rewarded for ther sacrifices to him. as you can also see from all the other people who served him throughout the movie.
he just uses them as pathways. they are a means to an end for him.
after he is the figure that embodies all evil.

but you gotta admit gabriel byrne plays him like pimpage!

Did that scene really happen , or was it just Christine dreaming it?

Any guy who says he wouldn't screw his girlfriend and her mom if given the chance (especially if they are both very attractive) is lying his ass off. The only unappealing part would be at the same time. That's just wrong. I'll give you that much. I could never do that with both at the same time. That's a devil type thing. And yes, I'm joking before you ask. :)

mother daughter threesome. one of my all time top fantasies.

and yes i have found several people think that fantasy is disgusting. not sure why. all long as were all mature adults, why not do as we wish.

Hey, I'm all for a sex scene, but I though the coolest part of it was the merging. That body horror realm has always facinated me and creeped me out (like The Thing or Society).

reply

Seems to be a few threads like this on here, seriously needless scene, and had no reflection on the devils boundries, the entire incest aspect about it was flat out *beep* pointless. How many mothers and daughters do something like that without being an extremely messed up family (something they weren't portrayed as in this film).

It looked like Christine's nightmare anyway, which further made it pointless!!

reply

How can you single out the sex scene as pointless when practically the entire movie was pointless? This movie has no redeemable value except mindless entertainment, and most of the film fails in that category as well. In fact, the sex scene was probably the most interesting one in the whole film. Not only because it was hot, but because of the merging, horror and incest. If the rest of the film was more like this, it might have had a chance not to suck. It's one of the worst Arny films because it's not cool, it's just boring melodramatic exaggerated action.

Gives new meaning to the term "Devil's Three-Way."

reply

The scene was meant to arouse you, and make you feel uncomfortable at the same time. It was to show you that the Devil has no boundaries, and that no woman can resist his demonic charm. From what's been said in the script the scene was more extreme then it was in the final product. If Marcus Nispel directed it like originally intended without question the scene would have been more graphic, and either pleased, or pissed off people more.

@ the OP:

That was the only part of the scene I liked when the mother started kissing the daughter during the three some. I'll tell you right now it got my attention.

It's the one scene for better or worse that stands out above all in the movie. It was original meant to be longer and far more graphic than it was. However the studio became squeamish with the taboo content and the scene was toned down. However if the movie were to be made in today's world then yeah the scene would be longer and more graphic to appeal to modern day audiences. Christine York was meant to have a shower scene as well, however it was also cut.

As it's been stated before Marcus Nispel was originally meant to direct the film. However after major studio interference with the direction and tone of the film, and slashing the films budget from $100 Million to $75 Million, and then telling Marcus that $25 Million of that was going to be for Arnold Schwarzenegger's paycheck. Which really meant that Marcus would basically have $50 Million to work with. Nispel then walked away from the project and Peter Hyams was hired to replace him as director. Then the studio forced a last minute rewrite to tone the film's content down some, and that's why we have the version of the film we have today. In the end the film did run over budget slightly by $8 Million as the final budget for the film was approximately $83 Million.

That is perhaps the most depressing piece of information I've read on IMDB this year.
