Why doesn't Charmed have the impact Buffy or Xena have had?

Xena and Buffy are still considered the best television shows with female leads but why is Charmed sort of forgotten outside the internet?

Did the "Shannen Doherty vs. Everyone" drama ruin it's impact? Or did it being a poor-man's Buffy stop that?

Charmed just isn't cool. Buffy had an edginess to it and even though it was often campy it was in a very fun and cool way. Charmed always strikes me as being for young girls and middle aged women the mix of whimsical magic and soapy romance.

And although I didn't mind I think finding ways to present Milano in a slutty outfit were probably counter productive as I doubt it really attracted regular male viewers and probably put off female ones.

Buffy didn't really do that with their female cast unless it was in some way relevant to the story.

To me Buffy (creative-wise) was on another level than Charmed or Xena.

I really like the first 3 seasons, after that it was hit or miss for me... with highlights like for example Hush, perhaps my favorite episode of the entire series.

I don’t know, for me Charmed has the fondest memories, a friend of mine was a massive fan and used to come over on Tuesday nights to watch it so I got into it. We called it our “witches bitches” night. Fun times.
