why is the fact checker so bitchy?

Is there a deleted scene that explains why Alison the Fact Checker hated William so much...eternally pissed off is a way to not keep a job very long...and she was bitchy even when it seems there was no real reason...

Haven't you ever met anyone like that? I assumed everyone has

I would imagine that working as a fact checker which must consist of tons of mundane work which when it pays off only results in you arguing with some egotistical writer that they cannot write something would make anyone bitchy.

Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

I got the feeling she was irritated that his work was not submitted in a timely or professional manner. The production staff seemed to be in complete disarray while they were waiting for him to deliver. When he finally shows up, not only is he much younger than anyone expected, all he has to show for his time (and their expense) is a bunch of gobbledygook. Then he delivers a better written piece but the band denies most of it. This only serves to make her suspicions about his perceived lack of professionalism seem valid. I suspect she would have been much nicer if his notes were more appropriate for her needs. Also if Stillwater didn't sell him out re the finished article. Maybe if there was a deleted scene showing her apologizing to William after the band withdrew their denial? I was more upset at Stillwater for lying about the article than I was about her...

Yeah, she just strikes me as a no-nonsense person which is definitely not uncommon in that kind of workplace.

I'm Tom Hanks and I want you in my bed.

Because validating facts doesn't prove your worth. Finding errors is what it's about and she found what she believed to be a doozy.
