This is a by-the-numbers Carpenter flick, designed from the ground up to be a cult film adored by his fans, and not really ever intended to make money.
John Carpenter will go down in the annals of film making as the definition of a cult film producer, if that's even something anyone actually aspires to. No one really tries to be runner-up right?
It definitely reeks of his style, which is probably why I unironically kinda like it for the trashy film it is.
shareIt would have been good if it was produced in the 80s. This was more generic carpenter with a weird cast and costumes/set design that would have been better back in his prime.
