I've seen all of original Trek and TNG and the rest sporadically but never really watched this one so i'm looking forward to checking it out.

You have the advantage of streaming it. I watched this as it was broadcast, and in the last season it gets into a long story arc. Once I missed an episode, I stop watching it because I lost continuity. I watched the missing episodes later but the magic was kind of lost.
The episode tying it in to TOS was brilliant IMO.
Overall I liked it, but it got boring watching the Enterprise so badly outclassed when coming across other alien starships.
It was also shot darkly, something I personally dislike immensely. I never watched DS9 for the same reason. I mean, it's hundreds of years from now. They can't afford a couple more light bulbs for the space station??
So far i enjoyed the pilot. It's interesting to see the beginnings of Starfleet. Curious to see how it ties into TOS. I figured being a prequel there would be no tie ins.

I chose my words carefully with the TOS tie in so as not to give away anything. To me, it's the highlight of the series. Resist any urge to Google the episode.
A good series, which I’ll rewatch later this year. Currently on Season 3 of DS9.
I especially like the episode titled ‘Regeneration’.
Some of the episodes are okay. A lot of them seem to degenerate into people running around on a planet in the dark and one can't even see what is going on, which is rather boring. No idea why they wrote stories that way. Things start to get better in the last season.
sharelots of eps just have two people sitting in a cave or a shuttle craft the whole time, having the same conversation over and over again. the slashed budgets really show in this series.
