i would say this film should be in the top: 250 but as itis an average and not my personal choice (terrible) its not in it i would also include collateral, one of my favourite films of last year perhaps also gangs of new york what about you?
THE best films ever. And yes, when it comes to this subject (which is entirely subjective and pure opinion), I do agree with my choices on much higher level than anyone else's.
Mulholland Dr. North by Northwest Scarface Vertigo Easy Rider The Exorcist Star Wars Rear Window Lonesome Dove
The list is very harsh to many great foreign films...
But hey, I guess that's to be expected. But when I see crap like Batman Begins in the list... Okay, don't get me wrong. BB is great popcorn entertainment. But one of the 250 greatest works of cinema of all time?! .. I don't think so.
I also think Adaptation should be on it, at least based on some of the other films on the list.
People need to realise that just being in the top 250 is a huge deal. There have been far more than 250 great films made. With this in mind, I usually wouldn't mind if Adaptation was on the list, because I know it's a great film, nbut considerring some of the other films on the list..
Meh, the top 250 means very little. Make up your own mind about your favourite films. Your list will always mean more to you, and will be free of trashy summer movies.
Jackie Brown Casino Scarface The Virgin Suicides Tigerland Traffic Interview with the Vampire Oceans 11 American Psycho Blow The Thin Red Line True Romance
I never seen adaptation so I very well can't place it anywhere yet. I hope to see it soon because I see a lot of good comments on it.

just some I can think of right now.. way too many more to name.
i'm suprised no one has mentioned Say Anything (1989?) directed by Cameron Crowe. The top 250, and imdb does a great job of putting fantastic movies with sort of cult followings together: i'm surprised it's missed this gem, and al the other one's mentioned.
ok first....some of u ppl list awful flims....what hsould be in there...Last Tango, The Royal Tannenbaums, The Birds, The Long Goodbye, Good Will Hunting, amongst others.....relax with south park and jurassic park....dont confuse entertaining movies with acutal films ppl!!!!
Jurassic Park and South Park are definitely better than The Long Goodbye...just an opinion though...Midnight Cowboy is definitely the very best film not in the 250

as far as the movie, i haven't seen it in a while, but south park overall, doesn't get the credit it deserves. Much of south park is VERY good satire, and they really stay on top of things. Like i said, i can't speak for the movie, but south park deserves some recognition.
adaptation needs to be in a high rank in the list, but not the first.
i think top 250 movies need to be more than just any stupid movie you just like, it needs to be different, deep and something you can learn for the real life. i think stupid satires like south part or stupid love stories dont belong there. too bad most of the movies (at least what get to see) are hollywood movies.
